What is Pelvic Floor PT?

A lot of people ask what is pelvic floor physical therapy. As a pelvic floor physical therapist I treat a lot of individuals both pre and postnatal, post Breast Cancer Care, individuals with bowel issues, individuals with bladder issues, and issues with the muscles of the pelvic floor.

Who can benefit from pelvic floor Physical Therapy? Well, the answer is everyone. Men, women, young, old. It is amazing to me how many people do not know how to go into the bathroom properly. However, with the help of a pelvic floor therapist and by altering some minor things, an individual can experience improvements in quality of life issues related to the pelvic floor. People will suffer in silence with having an incredible urge to go to the bathroom as well as frequency of urination both during the day and night, constipation and pain. I also treat a lot of individuals who have pain during intercourse as well as other gynecological issues. By seeing a skilled pelvic floor physical therapist, these symptoms can be managed and ultimately improve their quality of life.
